Jeno Tihanyi Scholarship Recipients
Traditionally the scholarship would be announced at the Jeno Tihanyi Long Course swim meet however this year that did not happen. Thank you to everyone who submitted an application and the 5 member selection committee who selected the two recipients.
Congratulations to Noémie Ringuette and Jenna Wall!
Noémie Ringuette is a grade 12 student from Hearst, Ontario. She has been swimming in NEOR for the past 7 years and is currently a member of the Hearst Phoenix Swim Team. Noémie’s favourite stroke is backstroke and she will be attending Laurentian University next year in the Droit et Justice program.
Jenna Wall is a grade 10 student from North Bay, Ontario. She has been swimming in NEOR for the past 10 years and is currently a member of the North Bay Titans. Jenna specializes in breaststroke and has qualified for Olympic Trials in both 100 and 200 breast. She hopes to attend UBC for health sciences and wishes to continue her swimming career into post-secondary. When she’s not swimming, Jenna enjoys running, biking and cross country skiing.
Congratulations and best of luck in your future endeavors!
Hi there. Below are some links to some dryland options for your swimmers while we are away from the pool. It should be noted that it is important that you realize that these programs are NOT mandatory and should be done in a safe controlled environment.
These are some articles I have found that may be helpful. The second one is inclusive for ALL ages and broken down by age groups with some exercise ideas for each age group.
