For those of you who gave orders with no cheque or money – please ensure Laura or Anastasia gets this as the order will be shipped Saturday. Only orders with money attached will be made.

We did receive our team kit from Team Aquatics this past weekend and tried to offer a set-up area but it was too congested and all the kids were in the pool so sizing was hard. This week, we will be in the stands 4:45 to 6:30 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly Friday).
We have bathing suits, backpacks, t-shirts and the Speedo parka available.
Please come and see Laura or Anastasia for order forms and sizes. Please find the order form attached. We don’t have any sizes for the Aquablade suits – sorry!

This weekend, Team Aquatic will be at our meet to fill your swimmer’s gear requirements. Goggles, fins, boards, snorkels, pullbuoys etc.
As well if your swimmer needs sizing for team practice and race suits, the sizing kit will be available this weekend only. The sizing kit will be coming up with Team Aquatic and will be available during warm up and sessions. They will be located in the main hallway in front of the Banuk Lounge. As well the large arena navy bags can also be ordered along with the suits.Club shirts, long and short sleeve will be available soon for purchase. From youth sm to adult sizes.

Our first hosted meet of the year, NEOR #1 is coming up October 20th& 21st! For those of you who are new to the sport of swimming, welcome! Swim meets are a fun exciting time!
Every swim family must volunteer for at least 1 session to meet their volunteer requirement and avoid being billed $50 (even if their swimmer is not racing at this meet) We will be hosting other meets in the new year and requirements will vary. We couldn’t do this without you and appreciate all of your time helping the club!
Please sign up as soon as possible. The deadline to sign up without penalty is Wednesday October 17th-no exceptions.
Anyone can work a session on your behalf. (Sessions generally run 4.5 hours.) High school students acquiring volunteer hours are welcome!
Meet sign up checklist:-Fill out Officials online registration form (Large button on home screen) -Sign up for your volunteer session – must be a full session-unfortunately not only safety marshal https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080848a9a82ca5fa7-neor2 -Complete introduction to swimming/safety marshal online clinic if you’re new, or if you’ve never taken it before-It’s free! (optional but recommended) https://form.jotform.com/80984335387267 Ask me for an official’s card at the meet if you are completing any clinics. Once a clinic is completed, you can get sign off/deck evaluation and work towards becoming a higher level official. There are incentives to moving up levels. Officials Incentives this year:
Level 2 – Swim Ontario Name Badge/pin
Level 3 – Red Officials polo
Level 4 – 50% off the club fees for one swimmer.
Those new to the swim meet world generally begin by working sessions as a timer, which is considered a level 1 official (same day basic training provided). Other popular positions are helping in our canteen/Bahnuk Lounge, volunteer hospitality, or awards coordinator.
Unfortunately, safety marshaling is not considered a full session worked. It is only 1 hour long and is generally added to other existing deck positions.
Swim meet dress code:
Chief Timer: White polo (top) over black bottoms with black footwear
Timers: White top over black bottoms
All other officials: Red Polos (top) over black bottoms with black footwear (Includes Head Lane Timer performing turn judge duties)
Can’t make it to NEOR #1 to volunteer?:
We are also assisting Laurentian Varsity with their upcoming meet October 27/28. You can choose to work at either NEOR 1 or Varsity and either one will count as your session worked. Please note that the option to work varsity is on a first come first serve basis and our priority is staffing NEOR 1. Sign up here

SLSC Club Officials Chair
Welcome returning and new swim families to the 2018-2019 SLSC swim season! With the first week of swim for most swimmers under their belts I thought I would send out a quick note.
October 10 @ 5:30pm: mandatory meeting for new parents. This is an information session with the head coach, officials chair and an executive board member. All parents are welcome but is mandatory for new members.
October 13 @ 9am: SLSC AGM meeting. This will coincide with our first team practice, where our younger swimmers get to learn from and have fun with our more senior swimmers.
An agenda will be sent out shortly. This will include budget information, plans for the upcoming year in terms of fundraising, get togethers and communication.
October 20 & 21: NEOR 1 Meet
This is our first HOSTED meet of the year and is a great time to meet other parents of our club as well as across the region. The work requirement for this meet is 1 session per family.
